Zachary

Zachary serves as Capital Program Manager and Sustainability Manager at SUNY Empire State University, where he works on capital planning, energy, facilities, and sustainability initiatives. Zachary holds a BS in Finance from the University of Tulsa, a BS in EHS Management from Northeastern State University, and is currently enrolled in an ME program at the University of Wisconsin - Madison focusing on renewable energy systems. His experience as a Project Management Professional includes public and private infrastructure planning, energy management, engineering, and construction. He previously served as stormwater program coordinator while managing DEC compliance and permits for the Saratoga Springs City Engineer’s Office. He continues to support the community as a board member of the City’s Climate Smart Task Force. Raised on a multi-generational diversified farm and ranch in Oklahoma, he brings a long personal connection to land-based work through years of experience in greenhouses, construction, cultivation, orchard development, farm projects, and rural property stewardship. Zachary and his wife, Marissa, designed, built, owned, and operated the first aquaponic farm to achieve certification under the USDA’s Good Agricultural Practices program. Zachary is drawn to Pitney Meadows because of its role in connecting agriculture, education, land stewardship, and community wellbeing. He and Marissa, along with their mixed-hound rescue dog Lebowski, enjoy spending their free time hiking and exploring the great outdoors.
