Mira
Mira amplifies the stories and impact of Pitney Meadows, with an attentive eye to the art, feeling, and science informing farm programming. With a background in environmental science, agriculture, international field-based research, law, and art, Mira aims to leverage her interdisciplinary skillset to boost ecological sovereignty in the Capital Region of New York.
The intentionality and care Mira brings to her work was shaped by her early-career experiences, most notably when she served as an LGBTQ+ Refugee Services Paralegal in Australia. She’s been mentored by scientists and lawyers at the NYS Attorney General’s Environmental Protection Bureau, where she served as a Policy Analyst, and most recently traveled to southern New Mexico to produce and direct a documentary on environmental harm for More Perfect Union. On the side, Mira still helps the grammy-nominated rapper duo EARTHGANG produce music videos around the ecology of hiphop.
Mira grew up in Saratoga Springs where she co-founded the first youth climate justice movement of the city, and later went on to earn a B.S. in Global Environmental Development from Cornell University. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Ukrainian Classical Voice Project and trains classical operatic voice in her free time.
