Brian

Groundskeeper & Maintenance Supervisor

Brian is our Groundskeeper & Maintenance Supervisor at Pitney Meadows Community Farm, where he brings decades of experience in horticulture, landscaping, and design to the care and stewardship of the land. He is also a part of our beekeeping team as an experienced beekeeper!

A Gansevoort resident, husband, and father, he co-owned Oligny’s Country Gardens from 1998-2013. His passion for the outdoors began in his childhood in Burnt Hills and led him to study wildlife biology at Colorado State before earning a degree in ornamental horticulture from Cornell University.

With over 30 years of experience running a plant nursery and garden center, his work blends technical skill with an artist’s eye—treating the outdoors as a canvas. Whether he’s creating vibrant landscapes or maintaining green spaces, or repairing corners of our beautiful campus, his approach is rooted in care, craftsmanship, and a genuine love for nature.

When he's not working, he loves to paddle, canoe, and hike the Adirondacks, taking to the slopes on his skis, and spending time with his family!
