Bethany

Bethany Khan is the founder of Arcadian Revival, a sustainable lifestyle company and interior design studio. Bethany curates and designs places and experiences that bring people together through design, garden, food, and storytelling — with the intersection of nature and culture as unifying backdrops. Bethany is the voice of the podcast "Things I Learned from My Mother" from Arcadian Revival and writer via Substack at The Arcadian Revivalist. She aims to inspire a generation to think collectively and live beautifully.

With a passion for historic buildings and sustainability, Bethany worked directly on large-scale construction, master planning, and renovations in real estate development, including leading the sustainability and wellness portfolio during the repositioning of landmarked 550 Madison Avenue in Manhattan. She served as a Visiting Faculty member at Miami University where she built a curriculum on the real estate development process focusing on leadership and sustainability.

Bethany was a Policy Advisor at the City of New York focusing on economic development and building energy policies to improve air quality. She was Director of Real Estate and Planning at the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership where her work included re-imaging more than 50 acres of public land into new and improved park space for New Yorkers.

Bethany’s informal education is rooted in her upbringing on the property where both her father and grandfather were raised in Geauga County, Ohio. She earned a master’s degree from Columbia University in Public Policy and her bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Urban and Regional Planning and Public Administration. She lives with her husband, two children, and dog Hudson just outside of Saratoga Springs where she is an active board member of Saratoga PLAN and Sustainable Saratoga. Bethany loves spending time outdoors and can be found at Pitney Meadows many days of the week, year-round.
