After an extensive search process led by members of the Search Committee, the Pitney Meadows Community Farm Board of Directors is pleased to announce that long-time supporter and Saratoga native, Brooke McConnell, has been selected as Executive Director, beginning this September.

With significant consideration given to the skills, experiences, and expertise needed to successfully guide the Farm in its next phase of growth, the Board has selected Brooke McConnell to serve in this important leadership role. Brooke’s nearly twenty-year experience in transformative systems change initiatives, fund development, public relations, community engagement, and brand management have distinguished her as an outstanding asset to the Pitney Meadows team. Brooke holds a Juris Doctor from Albany Law School and is a program graduate of Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business New Strategies Executive Education Program for select non-profit leaders. She is deeply committed to her hometown of Saratoga Springs and has previously served on the boards of Pitney Meadows, Shelters of Saratoga, the Saratoga Institute, and Planned Parenthood Mohawk Hudson. Her leadership skills, commitment to social justice, and prior experience make her an exceptional individual for the role of Executive Director. We are confident that under her leadership, the organization’s success and impact in achieving its mission and vision will continue to flourish.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Search Committee, the Board, Staff, our partners and the entire Pitney Meadows Farm community for your engagement and support throughout this important process. I’d especially like to thank Mare Pieper who graciously filled in as interim Executive Director while we completed the search. We’re all very excited to have Brooke in this leadership role. She has proven her dedication to our mission time and again, and is the right person to lead our fantastic team,” said Alisa Dalton, Board Chair.
As Pitney Meadows begins its next chapter, there is much to be excited about as we continue innovating, strategizing, and strengthening this important community resource. Thank you all for your continued support and partnership as we welcome Brooke into her new role. May we continue growing stronger together.

“This work excites me to my core, and I look forward to engaging the community in our mission, sharing our collective joy in celebrations on the land, and moving Pitney Meadows through its next season of renewal,” said Brooke McConnell.
