Our Impact: 2025 Annual Report: A Decade Rooted in Community, Grounded in Ten Years of Impact, Growing Toward a Shared Future

Dear Neighbors and Friends,

This year marks our tenth anniversary as a community farm. What began with a shared belief that this land could nourish people and place has grown into a living proof point: Pitney Meadows meets real community needs, delivers tangible impact, and is here to stay.

In 2025, your support powered work we’re deeply proud of. Families harvested together in the Pick-Your-Own CSA. Our Community Gardens thrived both on-site and throughout the city at community partner sites. Fresh, nutrient-dense food reached neighbors through our Food for All partnerships. Students learned by doing. A city compost program took root. Our team cared for soil, water, and wildlife while opening trails and gathering spaces to the community. These legacy programs remain the heart of who we are and the foundation upon which we build.

This year, we also completed a new strategic plan. It sharpens our focus on long-term impact and “visionary projects” while reaffirming our place-sourced potential: that the unique ecology, history, and culture of this conserved farm in the heart of Saratoga should guide what we grow, how we teach, and the way we welcome. The plan asks important questions. Can we build something that lasts for generations? What values and culture must we cultivate among staff, volunteers, board, and partners? What buildings, spaces, and systems will best serve the mission and the community?

This report shares our first steps toward those answers. You will see commitments to food for all, education, and land stewardship, alongside careful planning for future infrastructure that can expand our farm’s role in the regional food system, deepen hands-on learning, and strengthen our capacity to care for this place.

Thank you to the Pitney family, our founders, past and present board and staff, volunteers, partners, and every donor who has invested in this work. You have built a farm that belongs to everyone.

As we enter our next decade, we invite you to stay close. Walk the fields. Ask hard questions. Share ideas. Invest in the future you want to see here. Together, we can grow food, community, and connection for generations to come.

With gratitude and hope,

Brooke McConnell, Executive Director + Jen Alexander, Board Chair
