Help Us Feed Our Community: COVID-19 Rapid Response

Our mission to provide healthy food for our community has never been more critical. With your investment today, Pitney Meadows Community Farm will be a lead producer of food donations to the most vulnerable in our community during the coronavirus crisis. Disasters hit the poor and at-risk the hardest and we already know this is no different here in Saratoga.

We are prepared to immediately mobilize a response by tripling our food donations to the Franklin Community Center Food Pantry Program, senior center deliveries, The Food Pantries of the Capital Region, and the Saratoga County EOC Food Pantry.

Your gift today to support this effort allows Pitney Meadows to be agile, resilient, and responsive in a crucial time of need. In response to this current health crisis and with your help, we are striving to increase our production to at least 15,000 pounds for our food pantries, building on the lessons learned in our first growing season. We will use the knowledge we have gained from our food pantry client information to inform our seed and starts selections, grow more storage crops, plan for extending the season, and take steps to improve how we pack and deliver our donations to ensure food safety.

Our community and organization are so fortunate to have the most generous and caring supporters. As you have done in the past, will you help us reach this goal of producing 75,000 servings of fresh, healthy fruits and vegetables for those most in need during this crisis? Thank you for making the Farm’s efforts to grow food and community have an even greater impact. We are truly grateful you share our vision for a stronger, healthier community.

With gratitude,

Pitney Meadows Community Farm Board of Directors
