Educational Programs

At Pitney Meadows Community Farm our program offerings are based on the principle that learning is social and is more effective when it is experiential and grounded in real-world contexts. As a social experience, our offerings encourage interaction, dialogue and community building.  We also recognize that all participants bring something unique to each program and we all have the opportunity to participate as learners and teachers. We believe shared learning can foster personal and collective efficacy and change, so we discuss how program ideas or activities can transfer to our individual and community lives.

We are all connected- to nature, to food, to each other. So let’s grow together!

PROGRAM ACCESSIBILITY

Our conversations are more rich when everyone is a part of the conversation! Therefore, we want to ensure access to our programs for all members of our community. Each program offers a sliding-scale payment option and a Fund-A-Friend or scholarship opportunity.

Our sliding-scale tiers reflect the costs related to delivery of our offered program. Prices vary according to offerings. Scholarship funding is available for all programs.

-Subsidized Price: This reflects the base cost of delivering this program, covering the related staff time and materials.
-Full Price: This reflects the true cost of delivering this program, covering program staff time and materials, and organizational support necessary to offer the program.
-Fund a Friend: Purchase an additional pass for a member of our community. These funds are made available via our Community Access Program.

Community Access Program
In order to ensure access to our many different offerings, our Community Access Program was created to support free programs or individual participation scholarships.
